If you’re an MMO enthusiast or a longtime Pokémon fan looking to get into the genre, this list is for you. The developers chose the pieces that made the games great and put together thrilling titles. There’s a wide variety of MMO Pokémon games out there and the best part is that these games are made by fans and for the fans. Pokémon has a game for everyone, even for MMO fans. The franchise has expanded beyond the consoles and released games for PC and mobile, though. Since its original release in 1996, the franchise has explored different genres like turn-based fighting, collectible card games, puzzles, the classic RPG, and more. One where the lead developper declared that many things will never be in the game, essentially killing all the potential it had.Pokémon is one of the most popular video game franchises with millions of fans around the world. One that just make us interact with other players as we play the GBA, and thus doesn't really feel to be online. One that progresses at an extremely slow rate and where we confront bugs everywhere. So since they don't want to do it, fans do it. At worst, they could simply limit the age, or create two different servers based on age. But pokemon is moving toward a teenager game anyway, we've all seen how the main characters age up between each generation in the games, I can't help but see this as an invalid reason. So why don't they do it? The only reason I can think of is that pokemon is by base a children game/show, whereas a MMO is supposed to be teenager land with impolite people. Heck, no one would care about them being cash freaks, because we WANT to pay for such a MMO, to the opposite of HAVING to pay. Many fans think it'd be awesome to play a pokemon MMO, many would be ready to throw in tons of money into it (I'd gladly spend over 200$ on it, even thought I hate spending money on MMORPGs), there is simply soooo much potential, for amusement for the players, for profit for Gamefreak/Nintendo. I know, I really wonder why Gamefreak/Nintendo doesn't create a MMO. So what's up Nintendo? Make a game I'm willing to throw my money at you for! Also, why the hell has Nintendo not developed an MMO for themselves? They have the resources, they have the talent and they have the license, so why no MMO? I know they are smart enough to see the potential revenue. I feel like Nintendo would have sued the crap out of these games by now, so I'm not sure what's going on with that. I'm fairly certain they are all done the exact same way-take an emulator and code it to allow multiplayer that's it. And Pokemonium - It says there is 6 people online.Pokemon World Online - Uses the more recent style of Pokemon.PokeMMO - This seems to have the largest community playing.I got through the nineties, lets move on. What I want is a full blown Pokemon MMO with a more immersive and graphically pleasing world, deep PvP, and some endgame. For me, I've been there done that and just the aspect of other people being in the world isn't enough for me. How do I put this into words? 'Oh wait I can't.' Jean-Luc Picard, take it away!ĭon't get me wrong though, if you're a true Pokemon lover and still enjoy playing the same old game, its great. So it's literally the exact same game, but you can see other people. I think that's about all the positives, iffy positives at best though. It's got the original sound track with slight alterations. It's free (illegally I think, haven't quite figured that one out yet). There seems to be a thriving community playing the game. You get some pretty in-depth character customization. ![]()
